Pre-launch: Steward Host is still being built.

Managed private server

A private server for your assistant. We look after it.

We rent the machine, put the KJ assistant on it, and keep the credit, backups, updates and monitoring running.

  • Set up for you
  • One bill
  • No AI account to open

See what you get

Rows of servers in a data centre rack.
One private machine per customer, rented for you and run by us.
A person working at a laptop on a desk at home.
Your own computer stays yours. Nothing is installed on it.

The difference

KJ is free. So why pay?

You can run KJ on your own computer. This is what a machine of its own adds.

On your own computerOn a Steward machine
There only while it is on. On when your laptop sleeps or leaves the house.
Sits among your own files. A separate computer, with only what you give it.
Updates, backups and the AI account are yours to run. We run the updates, the nightly encrypted backups and the AI account.

Included

What you get

Six things, on one bill.

  • One private server

A small machine of your own, kept apart from everyone else's.

  • The KJ assistant

Installed, paired to your phone and kept up to date.

  • AI credit every month

Starter credit added each month. It never expires.

  • Encrypted backups

Nightly, so your machine can be brought back.

  • Updates and monitoring

We patch the machine and watch its health.

  • One support address

Email a person. A reply within one business day.

A person looking at their phone.
The assistant is what you talk to. We run everything under it.

How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself

  1. Ask KJ for the managed option.

  2. We build your server and add your credit.

  3. We pair your phone. Updates, backups and monitoring are already on.

  • Rented from OVHcloud, in the region closest to you
  • Reached through the assistant, no control panel
  • Rebuilt from one template every time

The host and the region rule are settled. The machine size we start people on is still to be settled before launch. [to be confirmed: the starting machine size]

Pricing

What it costs

Two monthly subscriptions, named separately on one bill: the machine, and the assistant's credit.

Your server

A$39.00per month, ex GST

The Assistant tier, A$42.90 with GST. Bigger tiers for running your own things alongside: Plus A$65.00, Pro A$120.00, Studio A$200.00 ex GST.

Your AI credit

A$10.00Starter, per month ex GST

Everyday A$25.00 or Power A$60.00. Nothing tops you up on its own: ask the assistant for more and it tells you the price before it charges your card.

Together: A$49.00 a month ex GSTwhich is A$53.90 with GST

A free trial comes before the first charge. Everyone starts on this combination, and the assistant says what the next step costs if you outgrow it.

A$10.00 of credit is roughly 70 to 140 minutes of live talk, or roughly 12,000 to 210,000 messages. Those are provisional figures from our own test turns, at metered cost with a 0% markup.

Steward Host is ordered at my.stewardhost.com. This site is information only, and that page is the authoritative record of what we charge. We are registered for GST, and the GST is set out on your invoice.

Honest limits

What it is not

  • Not a web host

Your server runs the assistant, not sites or apps that serve other people.

  • Not an emergency service

A personal assistant, not life support. Do not rely on it for anything urgent.

  • Not always right

The answers come from AI models. Check anything important before you act on it.

Trust

What we can see, and what we do not

Trust is not a badge. It is saying what we do, what we do not do, and what we cannot promise.

We can seeWe do not look at
The health of your server: disk, memory, whether the assistant is up. Your files and your conversations. They live on your box and we leave them alone.
Your plan, credit balance and top-ups. Your card number. Our payment provider holds that; we never see it.
That your service exists and whether it is running. Your work. We do not use it for any purpose of ours.
  • Support access happens when you ask. If a problem needs someone to look at your box, we do it with your request in front of us.
  • Keys stay with us, off your box. The AI provider keys live in our own secret store and are never shown to you.
  • We still hold a key that works without asking you. A standing support key is on the machine and in Tal's secret store. Until approval-only passes are in place we will not pretend your box can refuse us.
  • Access is logged, as far as it goes today. Every request, approval and pass is written down. The machine's own session log and the lock that needs your approval are on our template machine and not yet on every box.
  • Your data is yours. Email us for a copy or to delete it, or both. No reason needed, and never through an unencrypted public link.
  • Cancel whenever you like. No lock-in, no minimum term, no exit fee. We keep your data for 30 days, then delete it, backups included.
  • Backups have one real trade-off. By default we hold the backup key, which is what lets us restore your box. You can hold it yourself instead, but a lost key means nobody can restore it, not even us.
  • What a real launch still needs. A lawyer's read of the Terms and Privacy note, written answers from the AI model providers, and a written answer on running the KJ assistant commercially.

[to be confirmed: what the access log shows, how a customer can ask to see it, the export turnaround, and how long billing records are kept]

Support

One way to reach us

Email [email protected] and a person replies within one business day.

  • Business days only
  • No phone line
  • Emergencies are not covered

A person reads every email, and nothing happens to your service until we have read it.

Unhappy with us? Email the same address and we will deal with it properly. A privacy matter can also go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. [to be confirmed by a lawyer]

Still being built

Steward Host is pre-launch. These pages say where the product genuinely stands, and the Privacy note and Terms are drafts that still need a lawyer's review.
